Perfect for both new and experienced educators, this course is your guide to understanding and positively influencing children's behavior in a way that is respectful, relational, and deeply effective. We’ll embrace a responsive, rights-based approach that sees behaviour as powerful communication and views every single behavioural moment as a valuable learning opportunity. You’ll discover an understanding of the core theories, principles, and purpose of responsive behavioural guidance in early childhood, from birth right through to six years of age.   • Module 1: Core theories, principles and purposes of responsive behaviour guidance in early learning.

    In this module we will cover the definition of responsive behavioural guidance, and how it differs from traditional ideas of discipline or behaviour management. Along with why responsive behavioural guidance matters for the emotional wellbeing, identity, and development of young children. Finally we will look at the foundational theories that shape our approach as early childhood educators in relation to behavioural guidance.

  • Module 2: Guiding with Purpose: Aligning Behavioural Guidance with Frameworks.

    In this module we will cover how to align behavioral guidance practices with key frameworks, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0, the National Quality Standard (NQS), and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).

  • Module 3: Practical Strategies for Responsive Behaviour Guidance.

    In this module we will cover how to apply a range of proactive and responsive behaviour guidance strategies tailored to different age groups (infants, toddlers, preschoolers), to support children's emotional development. Along with exploring effective responsive behaviour guidance tools and techniques that are developmentally appropriate, foster positive relationships, and are integrated into everyday interactions. And finally empower educators to move from theoretical understanding to confident, intentional practice in their behavioral guidance approaches.

This includes eight years dedicated to meticulously planning, developing, and operating two 130-place Early Learning Centres from the ground up on the NSW Central Coast. Her extensive background spans roles as an educator, room leader, Educational Leader, Nominated Supervisor, primary school teacher, centre developer, owner, and Approved Provider.
